History:
How I met him;
As I was walking home from a concert a school late at night, something moved in the bushes that surrounded the path. From the corner of my eye, I could see a dark shape flitting about; I decided to ignore it and continued walking, when something small and hard hit the back of my leg. "What the heck?!" I said to no one in particular, speeding up slightly, when another pebble flew past me. Irritated at the very least, I turned round and tried to work out where the projectiles were coming from. Two small shapes which I figured were.. ears? were wriggling behind a bush, and I thought that I saw a small piece of black fabric. Marching straight towards the undergrowth, I pulled back the foliage and found a small, adorable little fox with a funny black cape. Probably a flox. He was staring up at me with closed eyes, almost grinning, baring two little fangs. I frowned down at him and reached down to grab hold of him, when he made a dash for it. However, instead of running into freedom-- he ran into a thorny plant. His cape caught in the thorns and his fur tangled up. In short, he looked like a desperate fugitive or something; it was a very pitiful sight. G-get me outta here!! He stared at me, flailing his paws wildly (which only got them even more caught). "Stop thrashing about like a fish and keep still." I told him sternly, starting to untangle his fur. I could feel his nervousness and I tried to undo the endless knots - at the end, I just snipped off the bits of fur that were stuck. I'm gonna go now..! He said, wobbling on his feet. "Nope, you're not going anywhere" I said, wiping my forehead with my sleeve and looking at my watch. "It's freezing, it's the middle of the night and you're hurt. C'mon, I have warm blankets, a carpet floor and some food." I picked him up, bundling him up in his torn cape. He didn't struggle, but instead just curled up and started to snooze.
The next morning, after I gave him some more food, I opened the door, calling for him. "Hey, little guy, time to go home." He came trotting up, sticking his nose out of the door to sniff the frosty morning air, and clung onto my leg. "Hey, what're you doing?!" I asked him, raising an eyebrow. It's cold outside, he complained. "Oh wow," I said, closing the door, "Looks like you're stuck with me then. You don't wanna go home?" He just shook his head, climbing up my arm onto my shoulder to perch there. I like it here cause there's food and shelter and lots of things to break! He said, yawning. "If you break anything, I'll kick you outta the house!" I said, only half-joking. He just mumbled something incoherent and started snoozing again. "Oi, don't fall asleep on me. What's your name?" I'm Nacht! Like night, you know? he replied, sitting up to scratch behind his ear. Oh, I almost forgot! You might as well have this thing, cause I don't feel like lugging it around all the time. He said, dropping something at my feet. I bent down carefully to pick it up, trying not to let him fall off. "A key? Is it yours?" Well, duh, you're silly. Course it's mine! "Oh, right then.. so that makes me something like your new owner, right?" Nnmfnfd... he mumbled, half-asleep.
